Since 1980 when DTI was founded by industry veterans Hal and Sue Fowler, the company has built an outstanding record of customer service in the RV and Marine industries. While Sue worked more in the background, Hal has always found time to participate in a broad range of industry activities. This giving spirit has earned Fowler many honors such as being named RV News magazine's "RV Industry Executive of the Year" in 1996.

In 1997 Fowler was also honored by WDA-The RV Aftermarket Association by receiving that associations most prestigious honor, the Jim Barker Memorial Award, also know as the WDA Man of the Year award.
